New Use For Glimmer Paper!

Hi there everyone!

This is your favorite Blog Hogger, coming to you with a new use for Glimmer Paper!

I received a new cell phone for Christmas and wanted (with a capital "W") a red shell for it.  Red and sparkly would have been perfect but I was willing to settle for a plain red one!  Was I able to buy one here in our little town?  Heck, no!  So I reluctantly bought a clear one.

I know.  I could probably have gotten something if I had taken some time to look around, check websites, etc. but I wanted it now!!!  I know . . . again.  I have patience issues!  lol

Anyway . . . I bet you see where this is going . . . I had a brainstorm last night!  Look what I did!

I took the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (p. 216 in the Idea Book & Catalogue) and a square of Red Glimmer Paper (p. 181) cut 2 1/2" x 2 1/4".  (I didn't want to waste any of that gorgeous paper!)

I peeled some of the back off the Glimmer Paper.  (It's really thick and if you peel some of the back off, it will work better with some of the punches and the Big Shot dies.)  Then I placed it in the Embosslits Die and ran it through the Big Shot (p. 215).

I took the clear sleeve off my phone.

Then I took the biggest butterfly and placed it on the back of the phone.  I carefully replaced the sleeve, using the Paper-Piercing Tool (p. 207) to help hold it in place.

And, voila!  Now my phone makes a statement!  A beautiful red, sparkly statement!  lol (Hi, this is Katherine - YES it makes a statement - you are a crazy Stampin' Up! lady.  Love you!)

The best part is that now I can change the look anytime I want to!  I have visions . . . and voices in my head, but I won't talk about that now (lol) . . . of using different punches, Designer Paper, stamps, etc. to pimp up my cell phone!  The only thing I won't use is Dazzling Diamonds (p. 201) because I wouldn't want stray glitter to clog up an opening.  However, since Dazzling Details (the Cherry Cobbler one can be found on p. 9 of the latest Occasions Mini) stays where you put it, I can see me using that.

Oh, the endless possibilities!!!  lol

Sparkly hugs,
Colleen
