Mug Up!

Hi everyone,

It's the Blog Hogger coming to you on a cold, windy evening all the way from Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada. I am tucked up in my warm house, having just finished another Christmas card and feeling very pleased with myself.

The card I am showing you this evening got the "two thumbs up" from my husband, so we all know that it's a great card, right? lol He said that it screamed "Christmas"!

Okay, he didn't actually say that. I have to admit . . .  and my daughters would be quick to back me up on this . . . I tend to "embellish" stories. Actually, my daughters say I outright lie, but I prefer to call it "embellishing the story to make it more interesting"! After all, what sounds better: "I like that card 'cause it seems Christmassy" or "That's the most beautiful card in the whole world and it screams 'Christmas' "? I certainly know which one I like better! lol

Either way, both he and I like the card and I think that it fits into both a Christmas theme and a tradition that Newfoundlanders have of having a "mug-up" with a good cup of tea . . . although, in this case, I think it's a cup of hot chocolate. lol

Anyway, enough said. Here's the card:

I used Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock (cs), and Chocolate Chip and Real Red ink. The images are from the Scentsational Season stamp set, with the corresponding Holiday Collection Framelits. The sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set.

I cut the base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4". The Old Olive layer is 5 1/4" x 4". I stamped the greeting on the cardstock and then ran it through the Big Shot using a folder with snowflakes on it. (Sorry, don't know and can't find the name, which means it's no longer available.)

I ran a strip of Real Red ribbon across the center, and popped up the mug, steam and candy cane on Dimensionals. (Be careful to place your Dimensionals so they won't land on the ribbon.) Then I used Dazzling Diamonds and a Two-Way Glue Pen to make the snowflake sparkly, and stuck a random rhinestone in the center.

And there you have it, another quick and easy card! Tada!

Gingerbread Cookies

Hi everyone,

It's the Blog Hogger here, back from a l-o-n-g break. Did ya miss me, huh, did ya? lol

Anyway, I've decided that Kathy, my extremely hard-working sister, would appreciate me helping with her blog over the next few weeks since she's been extra busy doing Christmas Stamp-a-Stacks. (In case you don't know what that is, it's where you make 10 cards at a time: two each of five different designs. It's fun and productive, all at the same time!)

Now, before you jump to the conclusion that I am just the most wonderful sister in the world . . . which I am (lol) . . . I should note that I'm also on a high since Stampmas (the Stampin' Up version of Christmas) came last week and I have lots of new product that I'm just dying to use! :)

Anyway, even tho' I'm the type of person who starts getting ready for Christmas around the middle of December . . . really! . . . after doing a Stamp-a-Stack with Kathy on Saturday, I was inspired to make some Christmas cards today using my new product. And as Kathy always says, it's just as easy to make two cards as it is to make one!  Of course, being an over-achiever I had to make six! lol

This is my idea of Christmas baking: It's fast and easy . . . and there are no calories!  (Okay, never mind, I like sweets way too much and will start my baking sometime soon . . . probably around the middle of December! lol)

Anyway, this is my take on a baking sheet full of gingerbread men. Here's a close-up of one of the cards:

I used the Scentsational Season stamp set and the coordinating Holiday Collection Framelits to make the gingerbread men, and the Sassy Salutations stamp set for the sentiment.

I used Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Real Red cardstock (cs), and Chocolate Chip ink, and scored the edges of the Crumb Cake cs.

I also used scraps of Red Glimmer Paper to make two of the gingerbread men's buttons. The buttons on the middle gingerbread man are little silver half balls which, to me, looks like the stuff we used to put on Christmas cookies many years ago. I thought it was called Silver Shot but when I googled it nothing came up. so . . . I'm either wrong or it's no longer sold.

The gingerbread men are popped up on Dimensional.

So there you have it, a very simple, quick-to-do Christmas card! Yah!

Stamp a Stackin'

Good day everyone!

I am in the craft room and I am on Fire!  Been dancin Gagnun Style over the Stamp a Stack cards I have for you this year.  Word!

I am also trying to get caught up with some over due thank you's to my stampers who have placed orders.  I posted my October thank you card but then a couple of you had to go and order again this month.  What's up with that?  Of course this forces me to design another thank you card!  I love a challenge!  I will post these later in the week!  (and yes I do know today is Friday)

And apparently, the test results from my doctor are in and I have a disorder.  Yes, I think I have what is called in layman's terms "Postal Disorder"  or in Latin - "Postis Disordis".   I have mentioned in the past that for some reason I am able, and more than willing, to make a birthday card but can't seem to make it to the post office to mail it on time. 

I just know I am not the only person with this disorder and I would love to hear from those of you who also suffer.  Maybe if we get together we can come up with a solution to this horrible disease.  Our loved ones are suffering!   Let's stamp out (no intentional pun intended-RIGHT!!!) this crippling disease. 

Ok, Now that I have that out of  my system, on to the Stamp a Stack cards -

I have one SAS designed and since my classes are starting in November, I'd say it's none too soon!

Oh my, is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen?  I used the die cuts from Scentsational Season and the single stamp "Heart of Christmas"  I love it!

 

This picture does not even come close to the gojusness of this card.  I dusted off the "Bells and Boughs" stamp set from last year.  I embossed the image and did some wheeling and sponging and more embossing.  Gosh, you just have to take my word for it these are beautiful. 

 

 

Well that's it for today,  I am getting ready for my classes in Stephenville tomorrow and Sunday!

Holiday Mini Class!

Good day Inky people!


I finally have my Holiday Mini class done and ready to unveil!  I took some inspiration from the Holiday mini itself and some from creative people across the net!

This class is based on the new product from the holiday mini.  So looking forward to seeing the ladies again. 

This is going to be a Short post today so on with the cards!

 

I took the pre printed tags and added some Gumball green to make a larger tag!  Really fast and easy!

 

Used the new Core'dinations card stock for this one and the stamp set Winter Memories!

 

I was trying to figure out the new Illuminations ink and played around with it for this card.  It's hard to see but I stamped with Snowflake Soiree and then punched out the cups and gingerbread man using the matching framelits for Scentsational Season.  This is a really cute set!

 

I used Midnight Muse card stock for this one and the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and matching framelits.  I love the monochromatic look of this card.  So clean and crisp.

 

I have been finding the new in - colors for 2012 -2013 are fab for Christmas.  Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse being my go to colors this year.
