Getting Back into the Groove!

Good Day Stampers!


Well it's been a little while since my last post.  I have been trying to get back to business but it has been an up hill climb. 

Since my last post Carrie and little Emily have gone home and left a HUGE hole in my life.  I have to start filling my day with things that I have done in the past but put on hold while they were here and I was healing.

I am not fully back to health but every day is one day better.  This surgery may take up to a year to actually heal.  Apparently bones take a much longer time than muscle.  I push myself to do more every day but have had some setbacks when I push too hard.  Then its back to sitting/laying around until I feel ready to go again.  But that won't stop me.  I just have to remember to take it slow and like the turtle I have become I will get to the finish line.

I have been reviewing the posts and realized that there were several ladies I haven't thanked for get well cards.  I would like to remedy that today and I have a couple of new ones for you.  So sit back, have a coffee and enjoy -

 

This card came from my next door neighbour Brenda King,  its one of the older stamp sets from a couple of years ago.  But it still makes a pretty card.  Thanks Brenda!

 

This one came from a lovely lady in Baie Verte.  Ada used a lot of elements here, texture, color and some Pearls.  I love it, thank you so much Ada Ford, it meant a lot to get a card from you!

 

This beauty comes from Wilhelmena Hardy in St. John's.  She loves Pool Party card stock and Gorgeous Grunge!  Put them both together and we have a beautiful get well soon card.  Thank you so much Wilhelmena!

 

 

And not to forget Lynnette Taylor who dropped by with  a bouquet of flowers for me.  I had to take some pictures of these as the colors were so beautiful.  Thank you so much Lynnette!  They brightened my home for a long time!

 

This card came from one of my demonstrators in Alberta.  Val Parsons is a very creative lady.  I  would love to thank you for this beauty!  So nice!  When you visit Nl. again let me know and we can do coffee lol! 

 

This pretty card comes from my sister, commonly called the Blog Hogger,  Colleen.  She made a simple but beautiful card.  I love the subtle colors and the use of white space.  Sometimes it is hard to leave it simple.  But it's lovely Colleen.  Thank you!

 

Now on to the new card I have for you -

 

 

I used the elements from the March Paper Pumpkin.  I fooled up the stamping on two of the cards.  Yes, sometimes I screw up!  So rather than throw it out I decided to try using the parts I didn't fool  up.  I also used the congrats from the set.  I added Tombow Glue to the letters and then poured the fine Silver Glitter over it.  I attached this element to the card using mini glue dots.  I love how it turned out don't you? 

 

 

Well this has turned out to be a longer post than I had anticipated lol!  No one said I was unable to talk! 

 

I will be back soon with my March thank you card.  I figure you have had enough for one day lol.

Wow They are Still Coming!

Good Day Everyone!


How are you today?  I am feeling about the same but I have discovered since surgery that this is as much a mental journey as a physical one!

I have been so independent and capable all my life that to sit back and wait for others to do what I would normally do is harder than I realized.  But I am finally learning to allow others to help.  I have always been quick to be there for my family and friends and I now know that it is not only necessary but ok to ask for help and giving others that chance is a good thing.

All my life I took my body for granted and didn't think about what it could do.  But over the years my life became limited.   I looked at others and was jealous of just the simple act of walking.  I used to lay in bed in the mornings, before I got up, and pray that I would have just one day free of pain and numbness.

Now I get out of bed and feel joy at the small changes.  Not only can I walk but I can dance and play "Go, Go, Go" with Emily.  Life is good and I am optimistic that it will get better and better.  I will never again take what I have been given for granted.  Not my family nor my friends!

So now that I have all that out of my system, here are a couple more cards for you -

Look at the freshness of this card given to me by Michelle Marks!  Once again a Monochromatic pallet but the Crisp details help this one be a winner.  Thank you so much Michelle, you brightened my day.  See you at my next class!

Ok,  what to say about this beauty!  Mary Gaultois, you outdid yourself.  This card screams Spring and just look at the colors will ya!  You must have spend hours on this one for sure.!!!

 

 

Now I realize that this is three pics for one card but I just had to let you see the inside also. 

 I love the fold and the flowers.  Thank you so much, Mary, and I really enjoyed seeing your smiling face when you delivered it!

Now I have a clarification to take care of!  I have two lovely Ladies  named Pamela, who are wonderful stampers and I mix them up all the time. lol.

I had to post this cute pic of Emily our Snow Bunny!  She's not too sure about the taste of this white stuff!

 

 

 

 

One more of our little cutie!  I was gifted with a brand new camera Christmas and since I can't get out the only subject to try it on is Emily.  She doesn't mind but sometimes she just won't sit still.  So when she is getting her dinner is a perfect time to try the close up feature!

A Few More!

Hey there everyone!

Some days are good and some days not so good.  Today is a good day,  my back feels good and I am moving and getting a bit of housework done.

I haven't stepped foot outside since I had surgery but I am getting used to being home.  Now that I am not quite so crippled and am trying to do my share of housework (nothing with lifting or bending lol) I am not quite so bored.

Anyway I have several more cards to show you that have arrived over the last couple of weeks.  I am so grateful that you haven't forgotten me and that I have so many family and friends.

So with that in mind have a look at a few more cards -

This creative card comes from Pam Coles.  Love the Bandaid!   Nice colors combo too !  I am thankfully finished with that for now lol.  Great job Pam!

This Monochromatic card comes from Lynnette Taylor.  The soft green and White works really well.  Love the use of the Square framelits and the punches. Thank you Lynnette!

This Cherryful card comes from Pam Coles who I am proud to say is one of my Demonstrators.  As you can see she is good at what she does.   Thanks Pam and of BTW I enjoyed your visit.  Drop by anytime and feel free to bring back what you borrowed hahaha!

This beauty comes from Wilhemena Hardy who lives in St,. John's now after moving from her cosy home in Stephenville.  She is missed a lot by all her friends.  I love the Pool Party and Basic Black together and though the picture doesn't show it  there is embossing and pearls on this one.  Pearls and Pool Party are her favorite things.  Thank you Wilhelmena!

Now some of my family and friends do not do Stampin' Up! but I still appreciate all the lovely sentiments expressed in these cards.  My sister in Law has sent me 9 cards and a LONG and wonderful letter letting me know that she is thinking of me.

So this is one of the main reasons why I am having a good day.  How can you be unhappy when you look at these?

Hi there Everyone!

I was laying in bed late last night ( I am having trouble sleeping) and I was making up blog postings.  I need a pad of paper and a pen by my bed to help me remember all the funny and cool things I want to mention cause when I wake up the next morning I can't remember a blankety blank thing.

Oh well!  The recovery is going well and I am enjoying the gifts and cards from family and friends.  I love being spoiled and the center of attention!  Wait that sounds like Colleen talking! :O)

 My friend Sharon gave me a huge fruit basket with a Toberlone bar in it (to feed my sugar addiction), I received a fabulous basket of goodies to pamper myself with from Susan Young, I had cookies brought to me by Debbie Tipple.  She makes the best cookies!  I just got a cinnamon loaf dropped off by my next door neighbour, Brenda King.  My sister Colleen came in last weekend with a beautiful Azalea, and the cards -  WOW!

This one is from a lovely lady who resides in Goose Bay Lab.  She is one of my stampers.  I love the flowers and the pretty pink and green colors  Thank you so much Sandi McRae!

This one uses some more of the new goodies.  And I love doing banners since I learned to do it right lol.  It's another one from Kay Smith, my up - upline in St. John's.  Thank you Kay!

This intricate card came from Susan Young who was the generous lady with the gift basket of beauty products!  Wow what a lot of thought and work went into this one, right?  Thank you Susan!

This beauty came from Joan Pinsent from Stephenville!  She did a lovely job and I love a clean and simple card with a White Background.  Thank you Joan!

A Quick Update and Some More Cards!

Hi Everyone!

Just thought I would drop in with an update.  Every day I am getting stronger.  I am walking without numbness and almost cry when I realize I can move without the pain getting in the way. 

Mornings are a little slow until I get warmed up but watch me then.  Today I was in the kitchen getting my breakfast and Emily was dancing to the tune on the radio.  I joined her (modified of course)  but you can't even imagine how much this means to me.

Emily is doing her part in helping me get better.  We play a game of "Go, go, go!"  She screams go, go, go and I follow her around the rooms for about 5 min with her laughing and screaming.   Too funny!

I had a visitor today and she was blown away with how I was getting around.  She thought I would be laying on the chesterfield just watching TV.

Now I won't say that sometimes I do just that very thing, but today I was in the craft room getting my January thank you's done.  I love that even though I had surgery this craft allows me to fill some of my time being creative lol.

So here are some more of my Get Well cards.  I have received a card almost every day since my surgery, and I have to tell you each one brings a smile to  my face and for the rest of the day I am happy.

So here you go -

this gorgeous card was made by my Sister, Colleen,  She made it for her daughter Karen and her hubby Mark to give to me.  Love the "Gorgeous Grunge" Lots of shine and bling on this one.  Love it!

I got this one from a good friend, Lisa Payne.  It's a little outside her comfort zone but I am glad she took the trip!  The Q stands for Quick as in a quick recovery!  Must be bringing me good luck!  Thank Lisa!

This pieced card was done by Donna Wells.  I love the colors and the sentiment.  The little flowers also have a bit of sparkle.  Lots of work involved in this one for sure.  Thank you Donna!

This card was done by Helen Bennett, one of my demonstrators.  Look at that beautiful bow!  And don't you love the colors.  It is not a combination I would have used but it really works.  Thank you so much Helen!

Well that's it for me!  I have to get some supper!  Keep thinking good thoughts I am getting well but still a ways to go. lol

Hey There Everyone!

Good Day Everyone!

Well as promised I am going to start posting some of the lovely cards I have received since my surgery.

I am progressing well and have thrown away my Walker and am walking under my own steam,  Yes it feels so good to be able to do that without pain and numbness.  I am not sure how successful the surgery was but right now I am thankful for what I can do.

So here are a couple of cards sent to me by my wonderful friends -

This card was sent to me by one of my demonstrators, Kellie Handregan.  I love the color,  Strawberry Slush and the stamp set she used is called - Mixed Bunch!  Love the Layout, simple and clean.

This card uses some of the new product from the Spring Mini.  The stamp set is called Petite Petals, such a cute flower found on page 33 (new Mini)  and also the new Scallop Tag punch, page 35 (also in the Occasions Mini) and a brand new embossing folder from the SAB brochure called Decorative Dots.   It is full of new product.  I love it!

This card was made by Kay Smith and the Super Strawberry Stampers, a group I am involved with from the St. John's area.
