March Thank You!

Good Day Stampers!

How is everyone today?  I realize it's April and the middle of the month to boot but I wanted to show you  my March thank you cards for my loyal and patient stampers.

I am trying to catch up and this is part of it.  I realize it's April but better late than never, right?

So here is the card I sent out to my stampers who placed an order in March.  Here you go -

 

I used Beautifully Baroque, stamped in Sahara Sand ink for my background.  I then over stamped the stems and leaves with Gumball Green.  I added the flower image stamped in Tempting Turquoise.  The stamp set I used is called Field Flowers.  I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the center and a sentiment.

 

I always try to send a card that my stampers can re-create easily and also re-use as I don't write directly on the card itself.  I love the colors on this card and I am sure it would work equally well with any color flower.  Strawberry Slush or even Cherry Cobbler would look amazing also.  But I am drawn to Blues.

Back to Basics!

Hello Everyone!

I'm back today with a "Back to Basics" card.  I spend so much time researching the new and fun trends in card making and scrapbooking, that today, when I wanted to make a card I felt bogged down.   Does that ever happen to you?

I find when I feel like this it is better to go back to pure stamping.  So I went to my craft room and looked at my stamp sets and pulled out "Field Flowers" and "Fall Foliage".  I haven't used these in awhile so off we go.


Here is the pic:

 

You won't find anything fancy here folks!  I stamped around the outside of the card with Pretty in Pink and matted the focal image with Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold.  I random stamped the splotch image from Fall Foliage in Crumb Cake and I stamped off first because I wanted a very light look to the background.  I roughed up the outside with my scissors and tore and folded the edges for a worn look.  I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo and the stem in Pear Pizzazz.  I also stamped the greeting with Soft Suede.

 

I stamped out the flowers on scrap paper and cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals.  I added some sparkle with Dazzling Details.  Not quite a 10 min card but close. 

 

I found the stamping and cutting very relaxing.  So no bells and whistles here but lots of Stamping Goodness.

A Mother's Day Challenge?

Good day Everyone!

It's the Card Goddess here!  I finally have the time to respond to my sister's blogs over the last couple of days!  (Lot's of days and don't think I haven't noticed).  Yes it is true, awhile back when I was in Stephenville one of my stampers called me the Card Goddess!  Yes it's gone to my head!  How could it not?  Especially when she called Colleen the Blog Hogger!  (and apt name I might add).  Wilhelmena is very good at giving people nicknames, really, really good!  I have no problem with mine!

However, today is the day to respond to the NUMEROUS posts done by none other than my sis.  Colleen, I'm so glad you don't get a package every week.  If you did I might have to set you up with your own blog.  Now wouldn't that be something! (BTW the sheep are totally cute!)

I also took note of the photo tutorial of the Telescoping card that she did. ( and according to the traffic on my blog so did ALOT of people)  Nice tutorial, beautiful card,  but then she mentioned that it was going to our mother for Mother's Day.  hummmm.  So of course that means that I can't just give mom a  regular ordinary card with flower  and ribbon,  nooooooo now I have to create a wow card.  Thanks so much Colleen!  ( insert image of tongue sticking out here!) 

Rest assured I will haul out all the guns I have in my arsenal!  The mind will boggle.  (Actually Colleen read my last post and phoned me last night, guess what?  She is a little nervous! hahaha)  And well she should be!  But I love you too!

Ok enough with the sisterly competition!  You just came here for the card photos didn't you?  So here you go a new card to drool over -

This is a card my group worked on  a couple of weeks ago.  This is Sharon's!

And this one is mine.  Yes, I know that the sentiment is a little crooked.  We were laughing so much that I really wasn't paying attention.    I used Marina Mist as my base, added another layer of Marina Mist and ran it through the Vintage Wall Paper embossing folder and then sponged it with the same ink.  I used More Mustard as my contrast color and some Whisper White taffeta ribbon and also a punched out border with the Scallop Border punch.

To get the sponged rectangle in the middle I made a mask by cutting a rectangle in the middle of a scrap piece of card stock and then I sponged Marina Mist lightly in the center.  I stamped directly on the sponged rectangle and then popped up the flowers on Dimensionals. 

This is a beautiful card and so serene for a sympathy card.  Now if I can just figure out how to fix the sentiment.  Oh well I always say "There are NO mistakes, only an opportunity for embellishments!".

An Evening with Friends!

Good Day Everyone!

Yes an evening with friends!  Doesn't that sound like fun?  Last night was my evening with friends and we played for several hours and made some lovely cards.

 You know, if you would like an evening playing with your friends you can contact me and I will arrive with my Stampin'  supplies and we can have a relaxing and fun night making beautiful cards.  I am now booking for March.

Oh and don't forget ladies I have a class here at my house on Feb. 26th.  We will be doing two techniques - Painting with embossing Powder and Crayon Resist.  These are two techniques you don't want to miss.

Oh just a funny thing to tell you about.   I did a Stamp a Stack last Saturday and one of the ladies needed a bow for her card.  I of course tied one for her.  She said that I could add this exercise to my list.  So besides Card -i-o I also do Tie - bow!    Sweet!

Back to the original title.  Cards for you -

This is Sharon's card.  We used Field Flowers for the stamp set and Crumb Cake as our base with Espresso and Pumpkin Pie  as the contrast colors.  I don't have the Newspaper DSP but I can be resourceful and I have an old book that I bought at a Flea market just for this purpose.  I like to recycle.

This is my card.  Just changed up the pearls on the side and used a different punch for the sentiment. 

This one is Debbie's.  She used a different sentiment and punch and also stamped around the card with Crumb Cake.

So that's some of what we did last night.  I will have more for you tomorrow.

My Latest Stamp a Stack!

Good day Everyone!

Well another Friday is here - where do the weeks go?  Here it is almost the end of January already!  But things in the craft room are moving right along.  I have a class on Sunday and we will be focusing on the new Occasions Mini and Sale a Bration.  I am all prepared and looking forward to seeing my stampers for the first time since before Xmas.  I am all rested and raring to go. 

Now on to the Stamp a Stack cards.  I have five lovely cards that I will be using for the All Occasions Stamp a Stacks for Feb and March.  Want to see them?  Of course you do silly me!
