It's my Birthday!

Happy Mother's Day Weekend all my crafty ones!

Today is my Birthday and usually it means a little party with my friends but unfortunately because Mother's Day is tomorrow all my friends are busy with their families.  Yes I am feeling a little sooky, which is weird for someone as old as myself.  But none the less I am feeling a little blue,  I miss my kids, they live in Ontario.  And while I will see my daughter in a couple of months, I wish we were closer so I could be there for her during her pregnancy and feel the belly.  You know what I mean right?

I thank god for technology, Skype has saved me so many times when I just needed to see their faces.  My mom also lives in Ontario with my youngest sister and I have another sister in Halifax.  So it's long distance all the way.  Even Colleen lives about 45 minutes from me.

Wow I just re-read this post and it's really depressing me, I can only imagine how you feel.  lol.

So enough with the pity party - I made myself a little gift.  Yah, it's not pathetic you know to make your own b-day gift if you enjoy playing with paper.  :O)

I made myself a post it note holder for my purse because I never can find a piece of paper when I need one.  And of course I couldn't just put post it notes in my purse.  No siree!  So I smurfed it up a little.

Have a look -

I used the soon to be retired stamp set Always Elegant!  I stamped it in Basic Grey several times.  I used my color spritzer.  (love that thing)  I also used the smallest framelit die and a cut out that I received from SU from the Occasions Mini that just expired.  My Bad!

I used a 1" circle punch to punch out the For you and added it to the project with dimensionals.  I used my fav brads - Antique Brads.  I also used a Bitty Button and some linen thread and a pin from Vintage Trinkets.

This opens up like a match book.  It looks very impressive lol.  The size is 5 1/2" x 6".

This is the inside.  I have these much larger post it notes and didn't know what to do with them.  I did cut them down a bit to fit but I like the functionality of this project.

Well that's it for today everyone!  If I don't chat with you tomorrow have a wonderful Mother's day!

Birthday hugs!
