Halloween Treat's Class

Good day Inky people!  I notice my sister has made a lovely post.  Thanks Colleen!  She generally posts when I have been busy and can't post for a little while. :O)  The Summerside Trade show I attended on Sunday was a success.  Lots of women and lots of interest!  What more could you want?

I will be back in Summerside doing a Halloween Treats class on Wednesday Oct. 26th.  We will be making some spooky treats.  It turned out to be a punch class although I have a Halloween stamp set called "Batty for you!"  I got a little carried away with the whole idea and hopefully we can get everything accomplished during the class.  (fingers crossed)

So here is what we will be doing!

Spooky but fun!

A couple of days ago I was in the back yard and my feeders were hopping!  There must have been 5 or 6 Blue Jays and lots of Chickadees and Northern Junko's.  So I decided to see how close I could get to them before they got nervous.  I planted a burning bush in my garden several years ago and it has gotten quite big.  So I became the bush!  I literally planted myself in the middle of this bush and peered through the branches.  I did not even have to use the zoom on the camera!

My little Chickadee!  These little guys are such a fun bird.  I have had them land on my shoulder and hand because they were impatient for the seeds.

Have a close look at this one.  Love the color of a Blue Jay.  I just wish we had Cardinals in Newfoundland.

So that's it for today friends.  Have to go and cut some more card stock.  Punchy hugs!

Happy Friday and a Photo Tutorial for You!

Good Day Stampers!  I have been working on that photo tutorial for you that I promised a couple of days ago!  I realize I am a couple of days late but better late than never.  I am working hard preparing for my classes and SAS's.  I have one this Sunday for 12 ladies.  Should be a fun afternoon!  I will probably break a sweat working so hard lol.

Today's card is the Halloween card with the Lollie!  Here we go - I'll try to be clear and concise but no promises - my sister and all my friends will tell you I like to hear myself talk :O)

WOW Blogger took a LOOOONG time to load this tutorial!  Anyway here is the card!

I used Elegant Eggplant c/s, Pear Pizzazz c/s, Night and day DSP( Retired) and Pear Pizzazz DSP, Batty For You stamp set, Versamark ink, Embossing Buddy, Heat tool, Black Embossing Powder and Baker's Twine.
Rubbed the card stock with the embossing buddy and then I took the Vintage Wallpaper folder for the big shot and lightly rubbed the versamark ink over the raised image on the folder.  I placed the Elegant Eggplant c/s on the folder and ran it through the Big Shot.

After I had run the folder and c/s through the Big Shot I poured the Black embossing powder over the Debossed image.  I used a small paint brush to remove the embossing powder from the areas that I wanted to show the eggplant c/s.  I then heat embossed the image to get a shiny look.  Really dramatic!

I took the Pear Pizzazz c/s and the DSP and glued them together with Tombow Glue ( I only use Snail for Ribbon)

I added some snail tape to the back of the c/s and took a piece of Baker's Twine and crossed it over to adhere on the opposite side of the c/s

I did the same thing with the other piece of Baker's Twine.  Here you can see how I spaced the Snail tape to allow for the width on the X that I wanted.

I punched out a circle of Elegant Eggplant using the 1 3/8" circle punch and put Sticky Strip on it.  Then I punched a Scallop Circle in the same c/s and added Sticky Strip to that also.

I took the Pear Pizzazz DSP and scored it at 1/4" all the way along and then I punched out the edges.

After I had the folds done. Like an accordion!  I glued the pieces together.

Then I glued the other ends together and made a circle.  So gather the circle and then push it down and attach it the Sticky Strip

Here is the pic of the lollie stuck to the circle

Then I added the scallop circle to the other side.  I also punched out a pear pizzazz circle using the 1 1/4" circle punch and attached that to the scallop using tombow glue.
I used markers to color the first image (I don't know why it is so dark)  Elegant Eggplant marker and the Basic Black marker for the spider.  Then I used Basic Black ink to stamp the other two spiders on whisper white c/s

I added Dimensionals to the back of the lollie and attached it to the card.  I cut out the two spiders and attached them using dimensionals also.  (I cut my dimensionals in half before I use them they go much farther)

So everyone again way too many pic's but hope you now have an understanding of how to emboss using the folders and also how to make a lollie.  Sticky strip is the answer trust me!  Sticky Hugs!  Have a great weekend!

WorldWide Book a Thon happening today!

Hello there Inky People!  I'm so excited today - Stampin' Up! is holding a World Wide Book a Thon!  You may be asking what the heck this is so I will explain.

All over the world Stampin' Up! demonstrators are calling people and booking workshops or classes.  SU is giving away prizes for those who participate.  I am hoping to be one of the lucky ones, with your help of course.

Give me a call today and book a workshop or class between November 1st and November 8th and I will give you a cute little gift out of what I win from Stampin' Up!  Of course even if I wasn't winning a prize for bookings both you and I will still win when you book a class.

Every year I host a Hostess Appreciation Party for all my hostesses.  This is a really fun event with prizes and games and make and takes and lots of good food.  This is reason number one!

Reason number two -  why you should book a class or workshop with me - free stuff.  If your guests order $200.00 in merchandise out of the current catty's then you will receive $35.00 worth of free merchandise and a gift from me.!

Reason Number three - You have a wonderful evening with friends and spend time crafting your Christmas gifts or cards and get ahead of the game.

If any of these reasons are good enough for you then call me and book today.!!  Operators are standing by!  LOL!!

I have a share for you today.  I was looking through the past Stampin' Success magazines (a magazine that demonstrators get) that had a technique in it I thought I would give a try.

Since Halloween is so close I chose to do a card using the "Batty For You" stamp set that I just purchased.  I love the fact that it co-ordinates with the scallop circle punch,  the 1 1/4" circle punch and also the 1 3/8" circle punch.  Also Lollies are the hottest new craze out right now so I jumped on that band wagon.  I will post a photo Tutorial tomorrow on how to do this lovely technique.

So that's it for today ladies, creepy hugs !  And don't forget to book your workshop or class today and help me win a prize!

Hauntingly familiar

Good Day Stampers.  We are back from the funeral in St. John's and I am officially travelled out.  Baie Verte and St. John's in one week.  That's about 24 hours of sitting in a car and lots of Kilometers under the belt.  Not good for aching backs.

Right now my craft room looks like an episode of "Hoarders"!   Really it's nasty up there haha!  But I am trying to catch up with my Open house and a Craft fair scheduled for this up coming weekend there are not enough hours in the day so I am using the nights now.

Today's picture is done using the "Batty for You" Halloween stamp set and some of the new product from the Holiday Mini.  The new cello bags.  Love them!  Funny story - I went out to the Bulk Barn about a week ago and was picking up small amounts of small candy so I could put them in the new cello bags when they arrived.  Apparently hubby found the stash and apparently I miscalculated the size of the bags.  Yep - not much fit and there was not much left.  So what's a gal to do.  That's right back to the Bulk Barn for another forage through the candy aisles.

I got some mint patties and some lollies and also some M & M's.  I used the Scallop circle, 1 3/8" circle, the 1 1/4" circle punch and a white gel pen and a Basic Black Marker.  I attached the scallops with Sticky Strip.  That stuff is wonderful.  I really like this set and I'm sure the kiddies will also.

This will be a class for my ladies later on this month.  I'll be back tomorrow with  the cello bags filled with Christmas treats and some more new product from the Holiday Mini.  Just click on the catalog on the right hand side of this blog to download.  Sweet hugs!
