Double Dutch Fold Card

Hi everyone,

It's your friendly neighborhood Blog Hogger here . . . for the third straight posing!  What's up with that?  :)

Anyway, here's a card I made for one of my sisters . . . a sister whose name is not Kathy.  There are four girls in our family.  (I know, I know, it's frightening to think there are more of us out there, isn't it?  lol)

I made the card using the instructions from splitcoaststampers.com for making a Double Dutch Fold card.  Here's the link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/doubledutchfold/

And here's the card I made;

Brace yourself for a rather extensive supply list:

  • Peace Within, Fast & Fabulous and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets
  • random Designer Paper (dsp)
  • Top Note Bigz Die
  • Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set
  • Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing folder
  • markers
  • Silver Glimmer Paper
  • Whisper White & Rose Red cardstock (cs)
  • StazOn Basic Black ink
  • Blender Pen
  • Clear Emboss Powder
  • 5-Petal Flower punch
  • Word Window punch
  • Modern Label punch
  • Paper Daisy
  • Pretty In Pink Flower Brad
  • a Basic Pearl (in the center of the brad)
  • Frost White Shimmer Paint
  • Rose Red brads
And here's what the inside looks like;

And now with the bottom flaps open;

And so the supply list continues:

  • On Your Birthday, Greetings Galore and Four Frames stamp sets
  • Pretty In Pink & Whisper White cs
  • markers
  • StazOn Basic Black ink
  • Decorative Label punch
My only regrets are I didn't "fancy up" the top inside flap and I didn't stamp a flower or something on the bottom panel, rather than more words.  Oh well, as you've already guessed I'm the wordy type so it makes sense!  lol

Long-winded hugs,
Colleen

In Search or More Time

Good Day Inky People!  It's a beautiful day here in Corner Brook Nl.  The sun is shining and all is right with my world.  Today's post is again wedding related.  I apologize that there hasn't been much Stampin' UP! lately but time is getting short and since no one knows where I can buy more time you will just have to put up with me!  Of course you could move on to another website and avoid mine until Aug.18th.  lol.

I have the photo frame numbers for the tables finished and placed lovingly into a box for transport to St. John's.  So yesterday I went to Stephenville and while there, one of my stampers Christine Dunphy, helped me with a little problem.  I was trying to make pew bows (don't say that out loud it sounds, well....) and she works in the floral department at Food Center a local grocery store.  I had purchased some lovely mesh from her but had no idea what to do with it.  I know how to make bows but this had me stymied.  So off I go to see her and boom she has it figured out and holy cow did it ever turn out luscious.  Huge Thanks go out to you Christine.  You really saved my bacon!

I can't wait for the big reveal when everyone sees the decorations and everything. The pictures should be stunning.   However I can wait for the date cause that will mean that summer is almost over and to be honest I have been way too busy to stop and smell the flowers.  Oh and I purchased some really beautiful annuals to fill in some of the bare spots yesterday.  Gardening tomorrow!  So here is a pic of the Pew Bows!

See what I mean?  Truly beautiful and lush.  The church is HUGE and these fit the bill exactly!

I do have a new card for you.  This is one I threw together at the park one afternoon when it stopped raining.  Boy it is really hard to work with limited product.  I have gotten so used to having everything at my fingertips :O)

I used Pear Pizzazz and the words from French Foliage and once again the Nature Walk stamp colored with markers.  I also used the New Designer paper called Paisley Petals and the new stamp set Four Frames.  I love how this turned out.  Really 3 - d because it is raised up on the folded circle.

So that's it for today friends.  I will try to get a photo tutorial done for you tomorrow.  I know I have been a little slack lately but I also know that you understand.  Bowing to you!  Hugs!

Number four!

Happy Monday Stampers!   Well the sun is shining and so is my mood.  I have had a productive weekend making wedding invites.  Both for my DD and for a lovely lady who will be getting married next July 2012.

Just a little heads up ladies,  I will be hosting a free marker class in the near future and if you currently own markers or are considering them and not sure yet, this is the class for you. You will learn some wonderful techniques for water coloring and using our markers. You will use your own product for this class and I will be sending out a list just beforehand. I will be posting the date on Friday so stay tuned.

I  managed to make time to do a photo tutorial for you.  Today's card is the last stamp in the Four Frames stamp set that is available this month during the Spring is Blossoming promo.  I didn't use the matching DSP  for this one.   I decided to put together a set that I got for free during SAB.  The set is "Bear Hugs"  I think it is a cute set for a baby card.

I used a lot of products here but I had loads of fun putting this together.  Product used is scrap DSP, Pretty in Pink c/s and ink, Peach Parfait c/s and ink and marker, Basic Black c/s,  Watercolor paper, aqua painter and Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip markers.  Punches are the Designer Label punch, Scallop Border,  Wide oval punch and the extra stamp sets were Punch Potpourri (level one free) I also used Crystal Effects, Daffodil Delight marker and Real red marker.  Oh and White Organza Ribbon.  Whew it didn't seem like that much when I was pulling all the elements!

The measurements are 5 1/2" cut on the 11" side scored at 4 1/4"  Scrap of Peach Parfait c/s
some of the product used lol
Stamped the image on Water color paper and on the scrap DSP.  Trimmed the bear image on WCP at 2' x2' the Basic Black measures 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" and the Peach Parfait c/ measures 2 1/4"  x 2 1/4"
Colored in with the markers and Aqua Painter.  Cut out the booties and bib and glued them to the painted and dried image.  Used the Real Red maker for the heart and the Daffodil Delight marker for the rattle.
I matted the layers of c/s and added the bear image.  Punched out the border and attached it to the card.  The front of the card was cut 1" on one edge to make a different card.
I colored the ribbon with the Pumpkin Pie marker and attached the ribbon and border to the edge of the card.  This card was supposed to stand the other way but for some reason it looked better the way I finally did it.  Go figure.  I took Pretty In Pink ink and stamped the flowers from Punch Potpourri on the card in a random manner.
Stamped the frame in Peach Parfait ink and stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with the wide oval punch.
Layered the greeting with Dimensionals and attached the greeting.  Probably not my best effort but hey they can't all be stunning.  (and you have remember I am burnt out from wedding invites :O)
So here is my baby card and I'm all ready for when my children decide to make me a grandma.  Oh and I put Crystal effects on the rattle to give it some shine and dimension.

Please feel free to copy this card and also leave a comment if the mood strikes you.  I like to hear from you.  I am working on a video tutorial for you for this week.  Stay tuned!  Beary cute hugs from me!

Number Three

Good Day Stampers!  Well it's Thursday and I am all alone.  I miss my DD.  She left yesterday and while I am used to her not being around it doesn't take much time to get used to having her around.

Just because it is raining here doesn't mean I have to have a dull card - no siree! Today's card is Number Three in the Four Frames Series. Not much stamping but loads of personality!

Not a really great pic but hey I have to be bad at something sometimes right?

I used the Eyelet Border punch and Pear Pizzazz c/s and Peach Parfait c/s with the Paisley Prints DSP.

Cut out the Peach Parfait c/s with the border punch and glued the DSP to the front using a small amount of snail tape.
Ran the front of the card through the Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder
Turned over the peach parfait c/s and found the center and then drew a triangle on the back of the c/s.  Then I cut to the point to make a V
Peeled off the DSP and moved it up on the c/s to give a little border on the bottom.  Trimmed the top to fit.  Added a Pumpkin Taffeta ribbon to the top and glued all to the card.
Punched out the frame with the bird - once in Always Artichoke and once in Not quite Navy ink.  I used Peach Parfait for the On your B-day sentiment.

Punched out the sentiment using the Designer Label punch.  I cut out the bird on the other stamped image and adhered it to the first one using Dimensionals.  Added two more dimensionals to the back of the punched out image and placed it a little to the right.  (see pic for placement)

What do you think?  I like it.

Well that's it for today I am cutting it close and need to start supper.  I have been away/busy for so long I forget that DH has to eat.  I don't know why he can't cook for himself but hey that's the routine so I guess I'll go with it.
Little birdie kisses!

Number Two

Good Friday afternoon everyone!  Well I am rushing to get this pic out to you today cause I am running behind.  Trying to get a Bridal shower on the go and trying to do 80 wedding invites at the same time.  Also the house work and meals.  I officially am off holidays I can tell you.

Today's card is number two stamp out of the Four Frames stamp set that I just received .  I am in love with this set and I can see so many ways to use it.  Also the paper.  I  just have a pic for you today but I will try to post on Monday and give you the dimensions and also the instructions.  Hope you will forgive me but right now is such a busy time.  (I'm even hyperventilating)  I don't even have time to try to be funny for goodness sake.

Here it is in all it's glory.

Well that's it for me today so I will head back to the craft room and try to get another 10  invites done before His Highness comes home looking for supper.  Paisley Petal hugs!

I'm BAACK!!!

Good day stampers! Yes it is me - C'est moi! (A throwback from my time in Montreal) lol.  I got to use my high school french - Tres cool!  I have a new photo tutorial for you today. As advertised and promised the new Four Frames stamp set and the new totally gojus Paisley Print DSP. OMG the pic's don't do this paper justice. Anyway enough with the blathering. Here we go....
Supplies used - Cajun Craze c/s, Big shot and Elegant Lines embossing folder, Pumpkin Pie taffeta ribbon, mini glue dots, scallop border punch and decorative label punch , Cajun craze ink, Always Artichoke ink and blender pen and Watercolor paper.
Assembling supplies and if you look this set is so new I haven't put it together yet lol.
Cut out the border with the punch. and ran through the BS using only about half of the page in the folder.
Stamped the label on with Stazon Black ink cause I have to use the blender pen and I don't want the ink to smudge.  (Stazon is permanent ink)
Colored in the rose with Cajun Craze ink and used the marker to get a good supply of ink on the lid.  Rushing, rushing to get this in on deadline so you can get it today......
Did the leaves with Always artichoke ink and blender pen
Wanted to use the thank you stamp and decided to stamp in Cajun Craze ink and punch out with the small oval punch but scrapped that cause it was still too large.
Decided to stamp on the label directly,  much better I think.
Made a bow with the Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon and decided to curl the ends and kinda drape them over the bare spots.  I like the look.  I used the mini glue dots to hold down the ends of the ribbon.  And Voila it's a new card for you!

I have not even cleaned up the house or unpacked and I am up in my craft room creating a new card for you.  Am I nuts or dedicated.?  Only you can answer that question but the poll is open until 12:00pm tomorrow.
Leave a comment - I like them alot!  Paisley printed just for you!  Hugs!
