Blue Skies, Blue Water, Blue room and Blue Card! I'm stuck in Blue!

Good day Stampers!

Time is a flying here and we only have 16 days left of Sale a Bration!  Wow I can't believe it!  But there is still time to book a class with friends.  I will arrive with my supplies and spend the evening stamping and cracking jokes.  So please contact me if you are interested.  I can tailor the class to what ever you desire!  Yes I am that good ( and really really modest too)

I took a day off yesterday to spend it with a lovely lady from Labrador.  She was in town for the day and had some spare time.  So I played tour guide for the afternoon.  After a quick and delicious lunch we went to Lark Harbour.  This is a leisurely 45 min drive along a very scenic ocean view.  Blue ski, Blue water and White snowy mountains.  OMG it was so beautiful I had to take some pic's.  Just a couple that I really like -

The sea was so blue it almost looked fake lol.

Ice hanging off the cliffs.  Nice contrast. 

So after I had dropped her off at her hotel I came home and had an order to process.  Fun times.  New rubber! 

Now I have a card to show you.  It's one that I did recently using Baja Breeze and Elementary Elegance.  Here you are -

The main image was embossed with Silver and then punched out with the Curly Label punch.  Be careful of the placement of the image or you will have trouble getting the punch in far enough to punch.  Ask me how I know!  Then on the inside of the card I stamped the Happy Birthday and embossed it in silver also.  After the embossing was done and set I ran it through the Big shot using the Polka Dot Embossing folder.   I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit die to get the butterflies.  There is another butterfly under the Vellum done in Baja Breeze.  A couple of Pearls and a ribbon treatment and we're done.

Silence is Golden or is it Marina Mist?

Hello there Everyone!

Whew what a busy 5 days I have had.  I decided to paint my craft room as Colleen mentioned, and I had no idea how much STUFF I had in that room.    So that is why I have been silent over the last few days.  I actually phoned Colleen and asked her to blog so I could give you something worthwhile to view.  And as only Colleen can do she came through with flying colors and apparently water coloring. 

I had a couple of cards done to blog with while I was busy but forgot, in the flurry, to get pic's of them.  And then they disappeared inside boxes and what not that I took out of the room.

I got the room painted on Sunday and started moving things back slowly.  I am going through every box, drawer and tote to decide what stays and what goes.  Right now it is looking really lovely and I adore the color I chose.  The room was a truly awful shade of grey and now it is a Glorious shade of Marina Mist.  That's right I took a piece of card stock to the store and got them to match it.  I used pure white as my accent and now I am having trouble staying out of the room.  Even though I am still at sixes and sevens the color is just so bright and cheerful.  I will take pic's of it when I finally get everything sorted. 

Today's card was made using Elementary Elegance. 

I cased this card the other night while working with my friends.  We used Daffodile Delight for the base and flower and Basic Black and Very Vanilla for the accent colors.  I embossed the main image in Black Embossing powder and stamped the greeting out with the Curly Label punch.  I made the flower using three punched out flowers using the five petal punch.  Sponged the edges and sprayed water on them so I could crinkle them up.  I used a glimmer brad to put them together and then sprayed with Shimmer Mist.  I also wheeled over the top of the card with the Vintage Vogue wheel.  It is a bright and happy card that works really well with the color scheme in my new improved craft room. 

So to recap - I would highly recommend picking a color from the Stampin' Up! palette when painting any room in your house.  Because SU has done all the work for you, finding the perfect accent color is a snap.  Now when I hang up my cards and projects they will look like they were made to order for the room.  How great is that?

Elementary Elegance

Good Day Crafty People,


Did you miss me?  I have been busy getting 40 wedding candles done for a bride getting married in early April.  She wanted much the same thing as I did for my daughter's wedding.  I am getting so good at these it's crazy.  But that is the reason I have not blogged lately.  But I see the Blog Hogger has been here!

Nice ribbon flowers Colleen.  I can't wait to see them in person!  For those of you who don't know the geography of Newfoundland - my sister lives approximately 1 hour away from me.  But distance is not something that separates us, oh no, we phone regularly and we even skype, especially if we have something that we want to show each other.  On Sunday, Colleen phones me and says are you near a computer?  (this is sister speak for -  get your butt to a computer now!!!) So we Skype and she shows me the hair pretties.  Too funny!

On Thursday I got a new order and in that order was a stamp set from the Sale a Bration catalog that is running until the end of March.  The set is called Elementary Elegance.  And it is very elegant.  I love it and just had to create a card to show you.  I was inspired by Colleen's flower's made with ribbon and decided to put flowers on my card also.  But I used card stock.  Tomorrow I will post a photo tutorial to show you what I did to create these beautiful roses.

But for now have a look at the card -

Ain't it loverly!  I used Crumb Cake card stock for my base and then I used the Color Spritzer and an Early Espresso marker and made some spots on the card.  Then I stamped on the Card with the focal image.  Then I stepped up a very low key card with these flowers.  I also stamped the bird image just above the crown. I used the Happy Birthday stamp and just stamped the Happy on a strip of Very Vanilla and made a banner out of it. 

This is a close up look at the rolled flower done in Real Red and Pretty in Pink Card stock.   I sprayed them with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  Then I placed a pearl in the center.  I used the large bird punch for the leaves.  This is a very versatile punch for leaves.  Sometimes I use the wing and make leaves but I needed smaller leaves so I used the branch.  I like the punch of color and I really had fun with the flowers.  I will post a tutorial tomorrow on how to make these flowers.  So drop back tomorrow,  please and thank you!
