Now on to some more fun stuff!

A new card using Fresh Vintage - one of the stamp sets free in the Sale A Bration Catalog on the left hand side of my blog.

Have a look -

I had a piece of Pool Party card stock hanging around from yesterday just begging me to use it, so I did.  I stamped the focal image in Pool Party and then I ran it through the Big Shot and layered it onto a piece of Whisper White.  I ran a strip of Pool Party seam binding over the joined edge.  Then  I added some Stars which I sponged in Island Indigo and punched out some flowers and added them to the stars.  A couple of rhinestones and a greeting punched out with the scallop oval and large oval punches and whoo hoo another one done.  Oh and if you look really closely I stamped an image on the card stock on the left hand side.  It doesn't show up in the picture but it looks great IRL!

A simple but sweet card using only one color and some elegant elements.  Love it!

I would love to be your demonstrator.  I can ship directly to you anywhere in Canada.  Just use the shop now button on the right hand side of the blog or contact me, and I will take care of it for you.  And I will refund the shipping on qualifying orders.

Check back tomorrow for some more free gifts.  Party time hugs!

Fun Folds Class!

Good Day Crafty ones!

Wow I just looked at the date on my last blog post and I can't believe three days have passed since I last posted.  Where in the H E two sticks does the time go?  Of course one of those days was a Sunday and I try very hard to stay out of the craft room on that day and spend some time with DH.

But I have been busy creating some really interesting cards for my up coming Fun Folds class.  I have two of the cards designed and I'm going to share the first one with you today. Hang on cause this one is really FUNNNNNN!

This is what the card looks like when you are putting it into the envelope.  It lies flat except for the Brad, and won't it cost you any extra postage.  Sweet!  Still using the Fresh Vintage stamp set for this one and Four Frames for the greeting.  Also using some of that lush Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper.  Love this stuff!

Now this is what it looks like standing up and open.  I call it a swing arm card.  So much fun to do!

I have a couple of spaces available if you are interested in joining me on March 25th at 1:00pm here at 25 Massey Drive.  Just e-mail  me and I will hold a place for you.

That's it for today but I WILL be back tomorrow with the second card for this class.

Swinging Hugs!

Oh just a little update - The results are in for the Contest I entered with Stampin' Up! and I didn't win but that's ok better luck next time right?  The ladies who did win certainly did do a lovely job.

Ribbon Flower Video

Good Afternoon Crafty Ones!

I have been missing in action for the last couple of days but there is a good reason.  I was out of town on Saturday and on Sunday I wanted to spend some quality time with DH.  Monday dawned with a lovely nasty day with blowing snow and what not, so I said to myself "Self, what are we going to do today?"  And do you know that Self wanted to do?  Make a movie.

So I made a video tutorial showing how to make a Ribbon Flower. Then of course, because I haven't done one of these in ages, it took WAAAAAY longer than I had anticipated.  But it is done warts and all.  In one place I sound like I have a mouth full of marbles.  lol.  Oh well enjoy it and please don't laugh too much Ok?

Here is the picture of the card I made using the flower.

And here is your video.

Well that's it for today everyone, because I have the ladies coming tonight for a session and I have to clean house.  Not going to be easy without water.  They have had the water cut off since early this morning.  But I was prepared so not too bad.

Flowery Hugs!

A Couple of cards and a Recipe!

Good day Crafty Ones!

Last night was filled with laughter and fun and card stock flying all over the place.  We cased several cards that we liked last night.  Not so much our own ideas.  But sometimes that works well also.  I will show you two of the cards we cased.

This one is cased courtesy of Jan Tink.  I love her blog, it is so funny and I usually like her style also.  We used the Fresh Vintage stamp set once again.  Since this is a free set I wanted to showcase some of the things you can do with it.  I also used the free ribbon and DSP.  So this card except for the Marina Mist, Calypso Coral and Old Olive card stock (oh and the pearls) every thing else was free.  Whoopee!

I think this card is one I saw in a picture from the last Leadership Convention in Utah.  I like the clean lines and the pop of color.  I did change it up from the original by adding a cute little flower on the sentiment.  I used the Boho Blossom Punch and separated the card stock and then glued them back with the rough side showing.  Rumpled it up a little bit and then added a pearl.  What do you think?  You can click on the picture to see a larger version and that way you can see all the details.

I also wanted to post a recipe for Cold Pizza!  (At least that's what my daughter calls it)  I got the recipe from her quite awhile back and I love it.  Apparently so did my stampers.  I had a class on Sunday past and they almost ate me out of house and home. :O)  Oh and this recipe will be labeled so you can find it on the right hand side of the blog under recipes.

Cold Pizza

One frozen bread dough thawed and allowed to rise a little bit.
One Package low fat Cream Cheese
Two Tablespoons Mayonnaise (I used Hellman's)
Couple of Sprinkles of Dill weed
Assorted veggies cut extra fine

Directions

Roll out dough to pizza shape and size.  I have a large pan so it makes a lot.  I also like a thinner crust so I roll thin.  Place in the oven on 400 degrees and bake until brown and bottom is a little crispy.  I use a fork to make sure the dough doesn't have bubbles as it bakes.  Let the air out of those bubbles!   Once the Pizza is baked let it cool on the pan.

Soften the Cream Cheese and add the mayonnaise and the dill.  I usually taste it and add more dill if needed.  (I'm a fly by the seat of your pants kinda cook)  Now once the Cream Cheese is mixed, spread it over the cooled pizza, evenly.

Chop veggies finely and spread over the pizza.  I usually press the veggies down into the Cream Cheese so they will stay put.  The veggies I use are - Broccoli, Cauliflower, green peppers or red, cucumber, celery, mushrooms and if you like you can add onions.  (Pretty much anything you have in the fridge)

This is a delish appetizer or can substitute for a meal really easily.

I hope you will try this recipe and I'm sure it will become one of your fav's.

That's it for me today!  A recipe for love hugs!

Fresh Vintage and Ideas for a workshop!

Good Day Stampers and Crafty people!

I am running on a high today because I entered a contest at Stampin' Up!  Yes, I finally entered a contest showcasing my work!  I know that I usually like what I am putting out there but I'm like everyone else, I am unsure (yes, I did use that word in conjunction with me) of myself at times and I haven't felt like entering any of the contests offered by SU!

Yesterday was the deadline and I got crazy last night and finished off my entries.  The theme was Workshop Make and Takes, a Hostess gift and something that you would likely demonstrate at the Workshop!  So here is what I came up with.  The card you have already seen but I liked the card so much I built my theme around it.  Have a lookee!

This is the whole package!  If you book a workshop for your friends this could all be yours!  Something to think about for sure.

This would be the Hostess Gift - I need a better pic because this one does not show the outer Black layer on the Cello bag topper well.

This would be the demo part of the workshop!

One Stamp set, Two colors, Two punches and lots of WOW factor.  Wish me luck!   I will let you know if I am successful!

Gosh when I read that back to myself I want to say "One Survivor"!!  Been watching the new season.  It was on last night - my dirty little obsession :O)  I never miss and if I have a class or workshop on the night it airs my DH tapes it for me!

So that's it for today!  Crossed finger hugs!

Fresh Vintage

Good day Stampers!

I'm back - no - it's not the Blog Hogger it's the person who actually owns the blog!  I have been out of touch for several days due to forces beyond my control.

On Friday I spent the afternoon with one of my stampers from Labrador.  She was in town over night and as I had only chatted with her on the phone I just had to meet her.  We had a lovely afternoon chatting (well I did the most talking, quelle surprise) and stamping and then I took her on an abbreviated tour of my fair city.  Not much to see in winter but the weather co-operated and she got a few pictures.

Friday night was spent going out for supper and a play.  Lots of fun and our Valentine's gift to ourselves.

Saturday my sister and her DH dropped by for a visit.  Had a wonderful visit with her and then spent the evening trying to catch up on some paperwork.

Sunday the weather was nasty but housework called to me and I had to take supper to my sick Mother in law.  I took supper to her on Monday evening also.

Monday - a friend popped in for a couple of hours and we stamped.  Then  I had to go to the hospital for some follow up on personal health issues.  Enough said!

Today was a hair cut and groceries.

Wondering where I found the time to post today?  Me too!  But thankfully because I stamped yesterday morning I have a card to show you!  Yay!

I used the Fresh Vintage stamp set that you will find in the Sale a Bration catalog.  This stamp set is FREE with a $60.00 order.  This is a very simple card but love the pop of red - hummm!  Remind you of something?  Using Basic Black and Real Red feels like DD's wedding colors all over again.  hahaha!  Guess the combo just works, right?  This or something like it will be my thank you cards for my orders this month.  So if you placed an order on line or with me recently this will be in your mail box/bag!

This card was a little too monochromatic for my tastes so I stamped the image in Real Red ink and cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.  Now it works!

Ok I can see you scratching your heads and wondering what this pic is all about.  :O)  Well one of my stampers was here the other day to place her order.  She needed to get some sticky strip and then she mentioned what she was using it for.  Apparently her daughter wants three sets of hair clips to throw in the loot bags at a birthday party.  So Jennifer has to make 45 of these.  Yeah, we all get roped into projects whether we are moms or grandmoms.  Nice job Jennifer, these look so cute.

That's it for today everyone!  Keep Stamping and I will be back tomorrow with a lovely project I am putting the finishing touches on.  Thanks Colleen for your input this week and I love the glittery butterfly!

Vintage hugs!  (and no cracks about my age ya hear?)
