Baby Talk!

Good Day Everyone!

Today's post will feature some Baby news and an invitation and a cute card.  I was chatting with my DD today and she just had an ultrasound done and so far everything is going just great.  Size, weight and overall movement looking good.

We were chatting and I broke down and started to cry.  My daughter asked me what was wrong and I told her I felt so amazed and awed by the fact that I could share in the development of this little one.  Back when I was pregnant we didn't do Ultrasounds and usually weren't even sure, until much later, that we were pregnant lol.  We only got to see the baby when it was born.  Our only connection was movement and the swelling of our bellies. 

Today's picture of her ultrasound showed a nose and the head and belly really clearly.  She is scheduled for another one in three weeks and the nurse told her there would be significant changes then.  I look at this sonogram and lose it every time.  I can't believe we are so advanced now in technology that this is possible and that I can see this little being developing.  I am speechless!  (that's why I am typing this)

Anyway enough with the sob stuff.  I can't be crying all afternoon, hubby will be home soon and he will look at me like I am crazy!  hahaha

Here is a picture of the Baby Shower invitation that I have started thinking about.  I have it done in Pool Party but can change the general color for any gender.

This invite is done using the "Inviting" stamp set and the new "Baby Prints" stamp set in the Occasions Mini.

This card was done using  "Hello Doily" , Perfectly Penned, and a discontinued set called On the Grow.  I water colored the jar with Pool Party Ink, and used Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade for the flowers and for the leaves it was old faithful - Old Olive.  I also added some white using the white gel pen.  I used an aqua painter and the 2 1/2" circle punch to cut out the middle circle.  This was one of the cards that I stamped on Tuesday evening with my friends. 

And I have a correction to mention.  When I first posted this card I told you that the flower was Island Indigo.  Well apparently it wasn't.  The flower was done in Marina Mist but the one on this card which I re-did on Tuesday IS done in Island Indigo.  Apparently my mind is not the only thing slipping lately.  My eyesight is also on the fritz.!!!

Catalog Case and On the Grow

Good Day Stampers!  I am so glad I warned you that the posts would be few and far between because that is just what is happening.  I usually only get home for a couple of hours and gone again.  hahaha.  But while I am camping I am busy doing some cards and projects for you.  This first one is a direct steal from the new IBC that goes live on July 1st.  You can view this catty on my Stampin' Up Website.  http://www.inkinbythebay.stampinup.net/

This uses the Flight of the Butterfly and the new in color Wisteria Wonder.  Love the new purple.!! lol

This is my newest card using the On the Grow from the Summer Mini.  I love the new in colors so much.  This one is Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.  I just colored in the scooter with markers and then I ran a strip through the crimper and made a cute flower using the Boho Blossoms punch.  What do you think?

Well once again time is short and I have to go.  While the weather here is not so great - I am not getting much of a sun tan more like mildew lol, I am enjoying the laziness.  Punctuated by a couple of hours of frenzy when I come home to play catch up.!  Gotta Love it!  On the Grow hugs!

UFO"S

Good afternoon Stampers!   Well the sun finally decided to make a showing today and I have been enjoying my day.  How about you?  This is just a very quick post to show you the latest card in the On the Grow Series.  I was using some UFO's for this card.  What are UFO'S you ask?  Unfinished Objects!  That's right these are items that I started and then left for what ever reason.  So since I was cleaning up my Crack craft room yesterday I decided to use what was already at hand. 

this is what I came up with.  I decided to use a scrap piece of Peach Parfait DSP and paper pieced the Vespa.  I used markers, stazon ink to color in the flowers and the rest of the scene.  I colored and cut out the flowers from the other image included in this set.  I placed them using dimensionals and put them all along the top cause I like the idea of the Vespa parked under perhaps a window box filled with flowers in Europe somewhere.  The Early Espresso c/s was already embossed with the square lattice and Ms. Big Shot so I used that.  The Panel of Peach Parfait was already cut Ijust stamped some flowers on it to take off the naked look lol.

What do you think?  I like it.  So now I have to take off and drive myself to the Curling Marina where one of my ladies is having a crop today.   I want to support her efforts so that's it for today.  Hitting the trail hugs!

The other Image!

Good day Stampers!  Today is a cold and wet day and because last night I got little or no sleep again (why does that happen all the time?) I am moving much slower than usual.  In fact I would love to just curl up with a good book and my snuggie and fall asleep.  But duty calls once again and I have spent the last little time playing with the other image in the new set from the Summer Mini - "On the Grow" 

I love to water color with markers and aqua painters and this set is made just for that.  (at least in my opinion)  I used Old olive, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black card stock.  I used Water color paper and for the ink it was Stazon, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Daffodile Delight, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise.  All in Markers.  I added some Crystal Effects to the Jar to give it a sheen and make it appear as if there was water in the Vase.  I also used the word window punch and the Old Olive satin ribbon and Victorian Lace.

 I sponged Regal Rose over the embossed image to make it stand out more.  I find that just a little sponging makes such a difference to the card stock.

I was attempting to show you the crystal effects on the Vase but I am not sure if you can see it lol.  Click on the picture to enlarge.

On the Grow and a New color combo for me!

Good day stampers!  Well I really didn't mean to fib to you about the picture tutorial that I was supposed to do yesterday but with all my appointments and what not I forgot I had a scrapbook class yesterday afternoon.  (fortunately I remembered in time and I was already prepared or it could have been nasty :O)  So that's the reason I didn't get my post in yesterday.  But today I am back on track for about 5 min and here is your promised card with photo tutorial. 

I finally got out of the Pink, Orange, whatever combo that I was stuck in but now I find I am trying to find uses for all those scrap bits of Basic Black and Real Red that are left over from DD's wedding projects.  Ah ha - pair them up with Daffodile Delight and poof a new combo and I like it!

 Stamp set used "On the Grow" a set that is perfect for the watercolor technique!

 Supplies used - Daffodile Delight card stock, Real Red card stock, Basic Black Card stock, watercolor paper, Stazon ink, various markers, Aqua Painter, Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Eyelet border punch, Sticky strip, button, dimensionals, tombow glue, Ms. Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  I don't think I forgot anything!

 I stamped my image with Stazon Ink on Water Color paper and then using the marker colored in several spots and used the Aqua Painter to move the color around to fill in the image.

 You can put the marker directly on the water color paper or you can use a smooth surface to put some ink on and pick it up from there.  You can also use the ink pads to pick up color with the Aqua Painter.  I use what ever is washable for my ink.  Hence the yellow spot on the cover of the stamp set. (wink wink)

 After the lighter color - Daffodile Delight is painted on then I used a More Mustard marker to add some deeper color.  I then used a Basic Grey marker (see the spot of color?) to do the tires and seat of the mo-ped. 

 I finished coloring in the image with the various markers using the Aqua Painter and then added some sticky strip down the right side of the image after I matted it on Basic Black c/s.  I used the Basic Black Satin Ribbon and ruffled it down the side.  The sticky strip is great for putting ribbon on this way.

 I used a scrap of Real Red c/s and punched out a border with the eyelet border punch and added some dimensionals to the back of the image.  I then mounted the image on the Real Red c/s

 Attached the focal image to the card (Daffodile Delight) after I had run it through the Big Shot with the embossing folder.

 I used a couple of scrap pieces of c/s to stamp out the greeting and cut a V in each end.

As I was attaching the greeting to the card it fell out of my hand kinda crooked and off center and because I like it I kept it that way.  I attached a button and threaded a little embroidery cotton through the holes and tied a small bow.  It's finished!  Yay another one for your viewing pleasure.  Now since I have a marker class tonight I have to clean up my house and get ready.  Supper for once is already done cause I got smart and cooked enough for tonight, last night. 

Growing to hug you!  All right I can hear you out there groaning about that pun!  Stop it I was struggling here have some sympathy,  it's not easy coming up with a smart ending to this post.  Stop laughing I say!  Ah darn ok go ahead have fun.  :O)  I know I do.
