Just another race to camp at Big Falls for another year!

Now on to my share for today.  The title of this post is Retired but still Working For Me!  The reason for this title is because I used a couple of soon to be retired stamp sets for today's card, Nature Walk and Avairy.

I had forgotten that this year I need three Mother's day cards.  One for my mom and one for hubby's mom and one for Carrie.  I know she is not my  mom but it is her first Mother's Day and I couldn't miss the chance to send her a card. lol

Here you go:

I used Basic Black for my card and Daffodil Delight as my accent color.  Ran it though the Big Shot with The Polka Dot embossing folder ( Carrie likes polka dots).  I took the art piece and scored four lines at the top.  I stamped with Garden Green and Melon Mambo for the flower stamp.  I used markers to color in the stamp.  I did this a couple of times.

I stamped the cage from Avairy in Basic Black ink.  I stamped the Bird in Basic Black also.  I tied a Daffodil Delight ribbon using seam binding.  I added a greeting at the top and put on a couple of jewels to bling it up.  Added a few dimensionals to the art piece and put it on the card.  What do you think?  I kinda like it myself.  lol.

That's it for me today!  Chat with you soon!

Retired but still working hugs!
(it's a play on words, get it?  I'm retired but I'm really still working! :O)

Taking Nature out for a Walk!

Good Day Inky People!

How is your weekend going?  My Sunday started out with a lazy morning followed by an easy afternoon!  Still struggling with the January Blahs!  But this afternoon I got fired up and decided to take out Nature Walk and see what cropped up.  As you know I have the new Label Framelits dies and love them and I was looking for another way to showcase them.  This is what I came up with -

Ain't it gojus?  (and yes I can spell gorgeous but if I'm going to use Ain't, gojus just seems right)  I am really pleased with it and it will be the third card in my upcoming class at the end of the month.  I used Crumb Cake as my card base and of course Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso as my inks.  Do you see Lovely as a Tree peeking out there?

What exactly did I do before I got this set as a gift?  My friend Debbie gave me this for Xmas one year, (because she was tired of me  keeping borrowing  it all the time lol)  I used the Tulip Border embossing folder and Very Vanilla Card stock.  Stamped the trees in Early Espresso.

Here is another pic just because I like this card so much.  Can't wait for the class at the end of the month and for the ladies to make this card.  We are going to have so much fun.

Only two more days to Sale A Bration!  Whoo Hoo!  Stand back and watch the orders flying then!  Everyone has been holding off on using their Gift certificates and Christmas money so they can maximize their free merchandise.  I am also one of the those waiting for Jan. 24th.  :O)  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to order you may do so 24/7 at my Stampin' Up! website Here.

That's all for now, enjoy the rest of your day!  Bird like hugs!

In Search or More Time

Good Day Inky People!  It's a beautiful day here in Corner Brook Nl.  The sun is shining and all is right with my world.  Today's post is again wedding related.  I apologize that there hasn't been much Stampin' UP! lately but time is getting short and since no one knows where I can buy more time you will just have to put up with me!  Of course you could move on to another website and avoid mine until Aug.18th.  lol.

I have the photo frame numbers for the tables finished and placed lovingly into a box for transport to St. John's.  So yesterday I went to Stephenville and while there, one of my stampers Christine Dunphy, helped me with a little problem.  I was trying to make pew bows (don't say that out loud it sounds, well....) and she works in the floral department at Food Center a local grocery store.  I had purchased some lovely mesh from her but had no idea what to do with it.  I know how to make bows but this had me stymied.  So off I go to see her and boom she has it figured out and holy cow did it ever turn out luscious.  Huge Thanks go out to you Christine.  You really saved my bacon!

I can't wait for the big reveal when everyone sees the decorations and everything. The pictures should be stunning.   However I can wait for the date cause that will mean that summer is almost over and to be honest I have been way too busy to stop and smell the flowers.  Oh and I purchased some really beautiful annuals to fill in some of the bare spots yesterday.  Gardening tomorrow!  So here is a pic of the Pew Bows!

See what I mean?  Truly beautiful and lush.  The church is HUGE and these fit the bill exactly!

I do have a new card for you.  This is one I threw together at the park one afternoon when it stopped raining.  Boy it is really hard to work with limited product.  I have gotten so used to having everything at my fingertips :O)

I used Pear Pizzazz and the words from French Foliage and once again the Nature Walk stamp colored with markers.  I also used the New Designer paper called Paisley Petals and the new stamp set Four Frames.  I love how this turned out.  Really 3 - d because it is raised up on the folded circle.

So that's it for today friends.  I will try to get a photo tutorial done for you tomorrow.  I know I have been a little slack lately but I also know that you understand.  Bowing to you!  Hugs!

Keeping up with a theme!

Hola everyone!  Such a beautiful day today!  I am just dashing home to do some errands and found a new post on my blog.  Gotta love my sis!  What a great job Colleen.  Thank you so much for your contribution!  A lovely job on the case of the new IBC.  I checked out the cover and it is soooo close.  Very creative.!

So while I have been gone I have not been lazy I too have been casing the catalog.  Funny how that worked, Colleen and I have the same brain apparently.  lol

Here is one that I cased on Page 48.  I don't have the stamp set that they used but I do have the colors so I used Nature Walk.  The colors are Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party!  I didn't have the DSP newsprint so I used the word stamp in French Foliage.  I also didn't have the Daffodile Delight card stock with me so I used Glossy Card stock and sponged on the color and then I used Early Espresso to stamp on the words.  Got to use the old noodle don't ya know!  I think it turned out fine.  I made do with some other things also but if you look at page 48 you can see the similarities.

This new Catalog is so chock blocked with ideas that it just makes sense to case it.

Well that's it for today ladies - or gentlemen ( don't want to be labeled sexist).  Thinking of you hugs!

Nature Walk

Hi there stampers!  Today here is a balmy 19 degrees!   Yes that is right double digits on the right side of the -/+ sign.  hahaha.  I have the heat turned off and the doors and windows open.  YIPPEEEEE!

I have been doing so much in the craft room and outdoors.  I have been doing scrap booking classes here at the house in the daytime and that seems to be going well.  Today's class just finished so I thought I would dash off a new card for ya all!   I broke out the stamp set Nature Walk and the designer paper that I purchased with it and have not even cut yet.  What's up with that you ask?  Well apparently I am a hoarder.  Yes folks I hoard - ribbon, stamps and Designer Series Paper and numerous other things that I won't take time to mention.  It's a hard thing to admit and I am looking for a good therapist right now.  lol.

I am going to busy all weekend long with commitments so I won't be posting until Monday!  But I will be back with a photo tutorial.  Now you may ask yourself why no video?  It's because my video camera is on loan to my sister who will be doing the filming of my DD's wedding and she needed to get used to the ins and outs of the silly thing.  So for now no videos.  Sorry but I have to go with my priorities.

Ok enough with the blah blah, blah!  Here's today's card -

Supplies used - Early Espresso c/s, Marina Mist card stock, Tulip border embossing folder, Botanical DSP, Nature walk stamp set, Marina Mist marker, Old Olive Marker and Early Espresso ink, sticky tape and Victorian lace ribbon, also used Early Espresso marker and color Spritzer.

Enjoy your day cause I am certainly enjoying mine.  At least I'm not caged in today.  Gotta rip out of here and get some groceries for the weekend!  Hugs!

Nature walk and new video

Spent the afternoon doing a simple card for you and a new video.  Still needing some practice but I am going to try a new camera and see if that will make it easier.  Today's card is made using the new Nature Walk stamp set from the Occasions Mini.
The dimensions for this card are 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

And now for the video
Well that's it for me.  Hug and inky kisses!

Sale A Bration

I am so excited - there is only one more day left before Sale a Bration starts.  I can't wait!  Free stuff for everyone - gotta love that!  For every $60.00 you spend you will receive a free stamp set or merchandise from the SAB catty or the Idea book and catalog (IBC).  The SAB catalog will go live on my Stampin' Up! website on Jan. 25th.  Just follow the link on the left hand side of my blog

My sister suggested that before I post a video of a card that I am doing I post a pic of the card so that if you like it you would know before hand if you wanted to do that card.  Makes sense to me.  I was just so excited to get a video done that I never thought of that. lol.  A little known fact is that my DH never phones me when he is working but last week when I was trying to tape the tutorial he phoned me a total of 10 times.  All I could do (after I fininshed @#%@@ ) was laugh.  Talk about Murphy's law....

Anyway I thought that today I would post a pic of the completed card and one other that I salvaged  out of the flubbed videos.  Enjoy and don't forget to get your orders ready SAB starts tomorrow.  Free Rubbah Whoo Hoo!!!!!!
This is the card from the video with a sentiment in the upper left hand corner

This is the second card with the sentiment stamped and no Bevelled window pane.
Thanks for looking ladies
embossed hugs!

Welcome Stampers to my very first video tutorial.  I had fun making this one and while it is not up to the same quality as some I have seen, in my humble opinion it's not too bad.  I have some things I need to change and I am sure I will get better as  time goes on.  I must have done this video at least 10 times before I finally got one I was satisfied with.  lol.

The measurements for the card are
Baja Breeze card stock cut at 4 1/4" X 11 and scored at 5 1/2"
Perfect plum card stock cut at 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
Whisper White card stock cut at 2 1/2" x 4"

well that's it for today folks,  stay tuned for more (I hope)
Inky hugs
