More thank you cards!

Hi there everyone!

Wow it's already Nov. 12th.  I swear to god that I blink and time disappears!  I have been cutting and packaging my Stamp a Stack cards.  This takes so much time but once it is done things are a little easier for me.  I have four SAS this weekend alone and a couple mid week.  Really busy but soooo enjoying myself. 

Also, I have been working on my 12 Weeks of Christmas Contest for my club ladies.  This contest is  for my local stampers only.  I have mailed them four already but I actually have 9 cards done and ready to PDF them lol.  It takes some time to get all my ducks in a row but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

To all my followers - these PDF's for the 12 Weeks of Christmas Contest will be posted early December.  But if you are curious or are interested in seeing them a little earlier then e-mail me and I will send the ones I have done to date.  While you won't be able to enter the contest you may, however, enjoy some simple and easy cards.

Today's post is my thank you cards for ladies that ordered in Oct. and Nov.  I had one style that I did but some of my stampers ordered at least twice and I had to come up with another one.  I used the layout of one of my Stamp a Stack cards.  I was so inspired but the look that I thought it would look great done with another set. 

I still have Fall Foliage on my desk and since I really love this set that is the one I used.

It is actually the same layout as the Cherry Cobbler Merry Christmas SAS card I did and I am trying to remember which came first - the thank you card or the SAS card.  Oh well I guess it doesn't really matter much which one came first, only the end result.    I used the Music notes wheel in Early Espresso and I wheeled it over Very Vanilla Card stock.  The base of the card is Very Vanilla but here it looks Whisper White.  (I really need a photo box,  humm maybe Santa can find one for me)

 

After I wheeled all over my card stock then I used More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie ink and sponged some color on the squares.  (Which by the way are 2 1/2")  I then used the leaf stamp and some versamark ink and gold embossing powder  and a heat tool to get my art piece.  Once the leaf was embossed I took the versamark ink and dragged it lightly around the edges of the art piece.  Dipped it into Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.   The sentiment comes from a new set I have called "From my Heart"  I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso!

A Very Frosty Day!

Brrrr!  Good day Stampers!

I am freezing my tush off here in Newfoundland.  I am not a fan of winter and generally spend this time of year holed up in my home.  Fortunately for me I have Stampin' Up!  I am not sure how I managed winter before SU (cause as you get older the mind tends to also hibernate).  I am surrounded by Bright colors - and hearts - and lots of Flowers oh and my music!

I love music and have it playing 24/7 when I am working.  I never turn on a TV (well except to watch Survivor - I know, What's up with that?)  Last night I was in my craft room working on an up coming Valentines day Class and listening to a radio station from Athens Greece.  Music is universal for sure and even though the announcers speak Greek the music is English and I like the mix in the evenings as it is up beat  and  I get to listen to what I like to call World Music.  So Opa!!! (sounds of smashed plates in the background and dancing in my head going on!)

So as I said last night I was working on my Valentine's Day class and making pretty cards.  Yay now I have a couple of things to show you.

Project one!

Found this card on the net done by Leigha Rock.  I liked how she used a couple of non traditional stamp sets to make a Valentine's day card.  The Post card stamp (wavy lines) is from Christmas Post Card and the Paris, Coffee blotches and wording is from French Foliage.  I punched out the hearts with the Trio Heart punch (the largest heart) and did as she did and placed the colors from lightest to darkest.  So - Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Poppy Parade, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.  I did change the greeting and the way it was presented.  I also added a bit of bling to the middle heart and the greeting is from Filled with Love.  So lots of different things going on here for sure.   What I like about this card is if you were giving it to a man you could dispense with the glitter stone. With the greeting it could be for any time of the year. 

Project two!

This is a small note card/Valentine Card way to present a Hersey Kiss.  This one would work for co-workers or kids.  I used the Pinking Hearts border punch and the Brights Designer Package.  I used Filled with Love for the Stamp set and cut out the O with a 1" circle punch.  The Hersey Kiss is glued on with Sticky Strip.  Cute huh?

This is the inside of the 3" x 3" note card.    Oh and ladies I will be bringing the Chocolate! 

Project three!

Of course no class would be complete without this easel card that I showed you in one of my other posts.  I only have one or two more projects to work on today and I am heading to Stephenville tomorrow for a class out that way.  Hopefully the weather will co-operate! 

The ladies are coming tonight to work on a couple of cards using the Flower Fancy stamp set.  I should have some new ones to show you tomorrow.

Craft Fair - Open House preparations!

Good day Inky People!   I have been super busy getting ready for a Craft Fair at the Pepsi Center on Sept. 24th from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  And also getting ready for an Open House on Sept. 25th and 26th.  Sunday's Open House will run from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and Monday's from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  I have heard from lots of ladies who say they will attend so it should be a fun event.  I have displays and new product from the Holiday Mini and a couple of fun Make and Takes.  I will post them on Tuesday but for now no Peeking ok?

Because I want to be able to hand out Business cards I have been the last couple of days printing and decorating my cards.  It makes sense not to purchase them from an outside company when I have soooo many cool tools at hand don't you think?

I love the new clear mount stamps and the acrylic blocks but one feature I particularly love is the "Collage" effect you can achieve with only stamp set.  I used French Foliage and Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, More Mustard and Cajun Craze for my ink.  I use Confetti White card stock as I find it is a thicker card stock than Whisper White.

 I found this cute little trunk at Winners in Ottawa and thought it would make a great display piece for my Business Cards.

 This is the French Foliage Stamp set and in the background is the block with the three stamps on it. 

 I also used Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie - these colors scream Fall!

This is the make and take I have for the craft fair.  Simple one layer with just dimensionals to pop up the greeting, I also used the Color Spritzer for the splotchy effect.   I will be doing make and takes from 12:00pm to 2:00pm only as the rest of the day I will be alone and it is too hard to chat and try and teach at the same time lol.

French Foliage and Valentine's Day

On Feb. 14th my family will be celebrating a very special anniversary.  My DH had open heart surgery 10 years ago on Valentine's day.  I got my husband back instead of Flowers but I couldn't have asked for a better gift.  This is the card that I made for him.  I tried to get a masculine feel for this card and I think I achieved it.  Also I have been immersed in Black and White with a touch of Red lately as my DD is getting married and these will be her wedding colors.  So since I had them on my desk they kinda worked.  (and being a little lazy I didn't have to move lol)

I used French Foliage as my stamp set and a discontinued greeting.  Here's how I did this card.

I used the full heart punch, the heart to heart punch, Basic Black and Real Red card stock, a white gel pen, Basic Rhinestones, Basic Black ink and sponges.  Dimensions for the card are 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

 First I took the word stamp from French Foliage and stamped in Basic Black ink on the Real Red Card stock.  Card stock cut at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"

 Then I went into the card stock from the side and punched about 3/4's in and punched out the heart.

 I then punched out a Whisper White heart using the Heart to Heart punch

 I sponged around the c/s with Basic Black ink and did the small heart with Regal Rose very lightly.

 I adhered the Real Red c/s to the card and added the small heart.  I then measured around the square and made some pencil marks so that my lines would be straight.

 I went around the square with the white gel pen.

 I then used the embossing buddy to take the static off the Basic Black c/s and using the love you much greeting and versamark ink I stamped on the card and poured white embossing powder over it.  Then I used the heat tool to set the embossing powder.  I also added a Basic Rhinestone to the small heart.  ( I know men don't like bling but hey who made this card anyway? )
