March Paper Pumpkin!

Hi Everyone!

Forgot to mention yesterday that Stampin' Up! is having a sale. There is no Shipping and Handling on all orders except expedited orders from now until March 10th.

You have a few days left to take advantage and don't forget to browse the Clearance rack HERE.

Now on to my share for today!

I got my March Paper Pumpkin recently and while I love it!  I am going to tell you I have a problem coloring inside the lines. lol

What do I mean?  Well this month's kit was called Sew You!  And it called for sewing!  I don't like to sew, takes too much patience, I leave that to others.  But this kit came with a needle and thread and instructions on how to sew the You on the card.

Lovely but sew not me (like that segue?)  So what did I do - have a look

The March Kit!  Also included was a Basic Black ink spot!

This is the instruction sheet included in the kit!  As you can see - Sewing!

Now if you look you will see NO SEWING lol.  I cheated and colored inside the holes to create the YOU!  Easy Peasey!  Now you may be wondering how I got the Daffodil Delight layer behind the You and I will tell you I got inspired!

So here is how I did it stampers.

First I measured the You card stock and added a 1/4 inch to make a layer.  I cut a strip off a sheet of Daffodil Delight card stock.

Then I moved the You to the bottom of the Daffodil Card stock and made sure the point was very close to the end.  As you can see by the picture here.

I took a pencil and traced the You onto the Daffodil card stock.

Am I making sense so far?

I then took the scissors and cut where I had traced.  This left me with a mirror image of the Word Bubble.  I just moved the bubble up a little to leave me with a border around all of the You!  Now you could use this over and over so you don't have to trace again or you could just cut your Daffodil card stock to give you the border and use away!  Your choice!

And here is the full card!  I used Pool Party as my complimentary color and mounted it on to a Whisper White Base.  I cut the Black stripped note paper  in half and only used one piece to make this card.

Tomorrow I will show you another variation from the March Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I hope you enjoyed today's tip!  I like to think of myself as not lazy exactly but creative lol.  (It's my blog I get to pick the adjectives!)

Sew glad I don't have to Sew hugs!

  1. Love it! I wasn't a fan of sewing in this kit either. I haven't played with mine much yet. Can't wait to see what else you did with it.
